Both videos consistently feature brightly colored shapes interacting with one another simultaneously. The Dr. No title credits feature animated shapes changing color according to the musical composition. The speed of the transitions and movement change with the mood of the music. Mid title, the composition switches to a “World Music” style drumbeat. The overlapping layers of dancing human shapes change in luminosity and color scheme throughout.

The 2019 Apple Event title sequence features a variety of animated type and visual allusions to products, services, and historical figures. The animations alluded to titles created by Saul Bass common between the 60’s and 70’s. These vivid animations include the spectrum of Apple products and services including Apple Pay (accompanied by the chime) and Anya Majors (the athlete) from the 1984 Macintosh ad.

The North by Northwest title sequence featured white sans-serif type moving up and down blue gridlines against a green background. As the credits end the grid fades into a skyscraper with the grid aligning to the angle of the windows. The skyscraper transitions into wide and intimate shots of people on a regular New York City day. The type was kept neat throughout the transitions; it stood out, yet did not interfere with the composition.
