We made a layout and set our goals for the website based on our topic. We created a site to inform the different types of music genres, music instruments and other information like venues based on our personal experience with instruments. That being said, we tried choosing instruments that we were all fond of, or actually understood how to play. This process was very smooth, because we all knew how to play at least one instrument.

We started first with the instruments of our experience. We explained a little of the history for each of the four instruments. The instruments are now under the lessons and venues tab because there are now ways on how to learn each instrument and find music venues for each instrument of choice followed by a genre that correlates with it. Not everyone likes learning how to play an instrument the traditional way, so we’ve provided tips and referrals for every type of learner to go to and decide what type of learning experience they would like.

Based on the instruments, the music genre tab was created. The music genre is limited to our knowledge and interests and it gives a brief description on the music genre. We’ve provided videos and quotes within this section in order to really get information from multiple sources when it comes to being able to soak in the history of each music genre.

For each music genre that was created, a radio station was put together for different genres. Another way of showing the different types of music genres and listening to them directly, if the history of it isn’t enough. The radio stations have been separated in an orderly fashion, which each playlist corresponding to each specific genre. We got the radio station from groove shark.com. Grooveshark is a online free radio station/music player. Grooveshark if very easy to use and helpful website for finding music.

All the tabs were put together in pages and organized in a theme and a menu. The background and header were added to give the final touch in the website. Our goal here was to make it so anyone can do this. Nowadays, all you need is the internet to practically do anything. We wanted to share what we know about music with other people. We put all our different tastes and talents together and came up with this project. Music is something that is extremely important and creative and there are people out there who are all about it but some have no idea and they are missing out.This project also allowed us to dive further into the background of the history and the music genres we picked out. We all learned something new and had fun while doing it. What I’m basically trying to say is music should be viewed more significantly.
