Saving and Posting Work

As we come to the end of the semester РI want to make sure that saving, exporting and posting are clear. We cannot afford to lose any more work.

When working in Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Audition or After Effects you have finished working in the lab or at home save and name your project in the same folder you have put your media. You will get a work file that can only be opened in the same version of the program.

For example: logo.ai¬†or Trailer.prproj¬†YOU MUST KEEP YOUR MEDIA WITH THESE FILES – Upload this to your Google Drive or Flash drive. You may have a different version at home that won’t work at school. Here is some information about backward saving. PLEASE READ AND TEST

OK Moving on … Your project is amazing and you want to export. Once you export your file will be able to be played on a media player or posted etc.

Photoshop Рjpeg, tiff,

Illustrator,-.png

Premiere/After Effects – .mov or .mp4

Audition – .wav (uncompressed) mp3 or m4a compressed

SAVE THIS ON YOUR GOOGLE DRIVE —

Linking to Openlab — right click on the file in Google drive and press share. Grab the shareable link and post in Open Lab. Please write an explanation for each project.¬†

Welcome

Looking forward to meeting you and having a productive semester.

This is the class Open Lab site. Assignments, instructions and extra resources will be posted here.

If you have any questions or need further information about an assignment please email me at chloe.smolarski@gmail.com.

If you are absent, you are responsible to make up the work in a timely fashion.

Each of you will be creating an Open Lab/Wordpress site for all the work you produce in this class. Your site should be customized in a manner that is professional and highlights your work. Please be make sure that I have your Open lab URLs ASAP.

Assignment 1: Due on Wednesday

Please create an Open Lab site. You will need to have a CIty Tech email to create this site. If you are having trouble accessing your site visit the quick links on City Tech’s website for tech support.¬†http://www.citytech.cuny.edu/

  1. Customize your page with a responsive theme that supports multimedia, an original header, personalized colors, title and tagline. Your header can be a photograph that you recently took or an image that you have designed. Be aware of the ideal pixel size as you design a header.
  2. Create an “About Me” page. This should be a simple bio that reflects who you are. You may also include a photograph.
  3. Create your first post which can simply be a bit of text welcoming us to your site. Feel free to upload a photo etc.
