A) The AGIA Ethical Guidelines Handbook gives me a different outlook on what copyright means to a designer. Copyright defines the ownership of work created by a designer. When I design a GIF, I have to keep in mind, if I decide to use an image/music/sound that does not belong to the place I intern at, I would need to credit the source before I get copyrighted for illegal use. The designer has the right to reproduce and prepare derivative works, such as a poster copied from a design for example. For that reason, I aim to create my own illustrations, avoiding use of outside pieces. For one of my projects, I had to get permission to alter the logo in order to work it into the piece, in order to avoid conflict.
B) At my internship, I did not have to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement or NDA because the work I finish is immediately posted and viewed publicly. I am mindful of what I’m allowed to use, I make sure to leave out any sensitive information regarding my internship.
