WHAT TO DO NEXT DUE BY MON NOV 9 at 11pm

Hi everyone,

We will now work on DRAFTING YOUR ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY.

 1) RESEARCH: Continue to research! Find your four sources. Keep in mind, you may find new sources if you don’t like the sources you have. Read them to decide.

 2) WATCH: Library Video if you didn’t attend Library Visit. (In last few minutes, I explain the assignment.)

3) WRITE: POST ON BLACKBOARD DISCUSSION BOARD: Post ONE “SOURCE ENTRY” Draft from your Bibliography. Due by Mon Nov 9 at 11pm.

See the SAMPLE STUDENT ANNOTATED BIBILIOGRAPHY (under Content):

Sample Annotated Bibliography Entry.docx

These are two entries from two different students.

Each does what Roadmap asks: MLA citation, Summary, Reflection and Quotes.

ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY ROAD MAP.pdf

(The sample entries do not have quotes there but include quotes in your entries.)

4) REPLY ON DISCUSSION BOARD: Read and Reply to TWO STUDENT ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY ENTRY POSTS. 5 – 10 sentences each reply. What did you learn by reading this entry? What surprised you? What don’t you understand? Any advice for student?

5) READ: Graff & Birkenstein, “Chapter 3: As He Himself Puts It – The Art of Quoting”

This shows how to frame a quote: To adequately frame a quotation, you need to insert it into what we like to call a “quotation sandwich,” with the statement introducing it serving as the top slice of bread and the explanation following it serving as the bottom slice.”

thanks,
