I have been working as a dental assistant for the past four and a half years. I have been working under Dr. Michael D’anna. Dr. D’anna is an orthodontist located on Staten Island. While working here I have obtained many skills. These skills include scheduling appointments, taking impressions, pouring models, exposing digital panoramic and cephalometric radiographs, four handed dentistry, chair side assisting, communicating with patients, explaining procedures to parents as well as the children undergoing any procedure, managing patients with dental anxiety, working with the special needs population, properly scrubbing, bagging and sterilizing instruments, taking photographs for patient records, documenting information in patient’s charts, and more.
