ENG 1101 English Composition F2025
This is a course in reading, writing, and conducting research in multiple genres to learn genre awareness and transferable writing skills. You will develop strategies for composing in contemporary environments through practice and revision of project-based assignments. This course SATISFIES REQUIRED CORE- ENGLISH COMPOSITION Pre-requisite: CUNY proficiency in English This course is part of a First Year Learning Community with City Tech 101 for students in Built Environment majors. City Tech 101 8 Session Model Course

City Tech 101 14 Session Model Course
This workshop focuses on helping new students transition to college life, and specifically to City Tech. The workshop will enhance the New Student Connection with additional information, activities, and various opportunities to connect with faculty, staff, and current City Tech students. In addition to learning how to access a variety of college services and resources, students will develop personalized plans for their college career.
This is a course in effective essay writing and basic research techniques including use of the library. Demanding readings are assigned for classroom discussion and as a basis for essay writing.

City Tech’s Source for Academic Affairs Information
This is the site of the ESOL Language and Writing Lab. It houses tutoring materials and sites for students who are learners and speakers of English as a foreign, other or second language. The Lab assists students with second language composing, grammar and syntax practice and successful communication workshops.

My Clubs
This Green Spaces club focuses on Design in the Service of Science, on green urban ecosystems and the embrace of nature for soon-to-open spaces at City Tech. The club welcomes a diverse array of perspectives from biology, design, health care, literature, history, social sciences, etc. So come, get your hands dirty, hang out with friends, find kindred spirits, and take a stake in your backyard at the college.

The Salsa Club was created to teach students how to dance salsa as well as bachata, merengue, and cumbia. We want students to have fun and let loose after a long and stressful class. Students will have a great learning experience and get a work out in at the same time! We are located in the Klitgord Center Gym Mondays and Wednesday from 11am-12:15pm and Thursdays at 1:45pm-3pm.
