Nicole’s Profile
Biomedical
My name is Nicole Bellaflores-Mejia. I was born in the United States but I am of Colombian descent. My current major is Liberal Arts however I hope to pursue either a Biology or Pre-Medicine major in the future. My interests include reading, creative writing and website design. I hope to one day obtain both a MD and PhD with a research concentration in genetic disorders which include further investigation and possible cures. There are many genetic disorders which plague humanity, of which a substantial amount of knowledge are still unknown to us in modern medicine. Under the mentor-ship of Prof. Mercer Brugler at his lab at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), I plan to better understand the complexity of DNA bringing me one step closer towards my future endeavors.
