Bio

My name is Jamar Callender I am 19 years old and my specialty is Art of any kind of form. I guess you can call me an art chameleon because I can adapt in any type of artistic mediums. But, I mostly gravitate to acrylic, Charcoal, and prisma color pencil drawings. I was a very creative kid growing up as I began making houses out of cardboard and a roll of duct tape . I had an interest in architecture as well and I still do till this day. If City Tech would allow double majors it would’ve happened.

Before attending NYCCT I previously attended Brooklyn Community Arts & media H.s.There I was exposed to several opportunities to get me where I am now in terms of artistic abilities. I Studied at the Art Student League in Manhattan on a scholarship for the 2014 summer, Interned at BRIC arts, Joined an art program at Frank Sinatra school of the Arts, and lastly partnered with Pratt Institute throughout my junior and senior year. It was an eye opening moment for me as it gave me a sturdy foundation.

Art + Design Club

Art + Design Club

We are a design club at New York City College of Technology. We host Meet the Pros (facebook.com/meetthepros) speaker series and we release an annual design magazine, Command+J.

City Tech Printmaking Club

City Tech Printmaking Club

This club is open to all City Tech students, but was originally conceived for the students of the Advertising Design & Graphic Arts (ADGA) Department. We have formed to help bring traditional printmaking techniques back into the general awareness of our members in order to ground them more fully in the philosophy and heritage of graphic arts design and production. We work to offer informative lectures, presentations, exhibitions, demonstrations, and field trips for our students to explore all forms of printmaking, including but not limited to screenprint, relief, lithography, and intaglio.
