Bio

I’m a Ph.D. candidate in English at the CUNY Graduate Center studying early queer writing in America in the Modernist era––roughly 1919 to 1940. My dissertation studies letters and journals, periodicals, early gay novels, and Harlem Renaissance writing for evidence of gay male writers’ negotiations with the residual legacy of European decadence and an emerging American modernism.
