Emerging Media Technology


As an artist, I create short films and video games. Since my childhood, I have always had the curiosity to learn how to make good movies and video games that I play and do all the creative stuff on the computer. I remember when I was 9 years old, I got my first computer as a gift from my parents. It’s true that I was so excited about it but to be honest, back then I had no idea how to use a computer. I choose to learn about computers on my own and since then, I have been trying to learn new things on my computer every single day.


One memory that I have in my mind when I use Photoshop on my computer for the first time to edit my own picture. I cropped my favorite superhero Spider-man’s face and added my face on Spider-man’s body. This was my first creative work on my own as a kid. It took me all day to figure out how to do this editing properly. This experience teaches me that if you have the desire to learn something creative, you must try it on your own first. So, I can admit that my childhood curiosity and experience became my major influence to work on short films and video games.



I also believe that doing proper research and taking essential academic courses are the plus points for enhancing the creative skills. This is why I am studying New Media Technology in LaGuardia. I believe, this course and all the creative stuff that I am learning in my academic career are going to enhance my creative skills and will be playing a major part in my professional career.

MTEC2120 – Interactive Media System Design, FA2021

A nontraditional approach to the articulation of design techniques with different types of interactive media and an introduction to the theories, models and frameworks for designing interaction with sound and screen. Students sketch and prototype systems for the management and delivery of future media through multimedia visual programming languages.



This course is an introduction to emerging, interactive multi-media technology with a focus on interdisciplinary, project-based, cooperative learning. Students will be immersed in the protocols and processes of emerging and interactive media design, including: idea development, research, documentation, presentation, prototyping, and production, which will serve them in the face of rapid changes in technology. Students will explore basic theoretical and applied concepts of audio, visual, haptic, immersive, sensory and interaction design through creative group projects, visiting professionals, field trips and online documentation of their work.

MTEC 1102-OL98, Production Practices, SP2021

This course is a hands-on introduction to the best practices for production techniques used in games, interactive and tangible media product development. Students will acquire a deep understanding of content generation, technology pipeline and delivery systems for creating web, mobile, games, virtual & augmented reality, interactive installation and museum display, wearables and physical computing. Students will learn the roles and responsibilities, build the skills for each role, as well as apply the design and development processes for each medium. They will be introduced to design thinking and rapid prototyping techniques, as well the green light process essential to bringing a product to market. The structure of this course emphasizes an integrated and multi-modal approach to game design, interactive media and physical computing with modeled instruction and practice in the technical aspects of production.
