Course Description: An advanced course that continues to develop how to create, correct, and modify graphics. Students will learn advanced techniques for design, illustration and production on the computer, how to simplify path points and specify the flatness value for optimized files. This is an in­ten­sive course in de­sign and de­vel­op­ment of dy­namic web­sites. The course of­fers a com­bi­na­tion of the­o­ret­i­cal and prac­ti­cal in­for­ma­tion on how to com­bine the PHP script­ing lan­guage with the MySQL data­base to pro­duce dy­namic web con­tent. Stu­dents are ex­pected to have in­ter­me­di­ate to ex­pert skills in HTML and CSS. The goal of the course is to give stu­dents the ex­pe­ri­ence of de­sign­ing dy­namic web con­tent and demon­strate tasks such as gen­er­at­ing im­ages dy­nam­i­cally, send­ing and man­ag­ing email, fa­cil­i­tat­ing user dis­cus­sions and man­ag­ing con­tent. The pur­pose is to learn a pro­fes­sional ap­proach to web­site con­cep­tu­al­iza­tion and ex­e­cu­tion.

This is an intensive course in design and development of dynamic websites. The course offers a combination of theoretical and practical information on how to combine the PHP scripting language with the MySQL database to produce dynamic web content. Students are expected to have intermediate to expert skills in HTML and CSS. The goal of the course is to give students the experience of designing dynamic web content and demonstrate tasks such as generating images dynamically, sending and managing email, facilitating user discussions and managing content. The purpose is to learn a professional approach to website conceptualization and execution.

This course will ex­plore the foun­da­tional con­cepts of light and ex­po­sure in pho­tog­ra­phy. The stu­dent will de­velop fram­ing and com­po­si­tional skills as well as an un­der­stand­ing of pho­tog­ra­phy as rep­re­sen­ta­tion. Stu­dents will be­come ac­quainted with a wide range of con­tem­po­rary pho­tog­ra­phers and gain an un­der­stand­ing of how pho­to­graphic style trans­forms sub­ject mat­ter into mean­ing. Using pro­fes­sional light­ing equip­ment, cam­eras and soft­ware, the stu­dent will gain hands-on ex­pe­ri­ence cap­tur­ing, pro­cess­ing, and print­ing dig­i­tal im­ages in the stu­dio as well as in the field.

This course will explore the foundational concepts of light and exposure in photography. The student will develop framing and compositional skills as well as an understanding of photography as representation. Students will become acquainted with a wide range of contemporary photographers and gain an understanding of how photographic style transforms subject matter into meaning. Using professional lighting equipment, cameras and software, the student will gain hands-on experience capturing, processing, and printing digital images in the studio as well as in the field.
