Relationships between technology, pedagogy and writing, rhetoric and composition, theories of authorship, multilingual writers, translingual writing practices, the history of education, and writing process theories.
I have taught English composition and ESL courses at CUNY since 2011, and I am also the ESL Lab Coordinator at BMCC,. In addition to overseeing a language lab for multilingual students, I supervise a staff of writing tutors who support multilingual students at BMCC/CUNY. I’m also a doctoral candidate in the English program at the CUNY Graduate Center, where my research focuses on composition and rhetoric, theories of authorship, multilingual writers, translingual writing practices, the history of education, writing process theories, and the relationships between technology, pedagogy and writing.
My Courses
This is a course in effective essay writing and basic research techniques including use of the library. Readings are assigned for classroom discussion and as a basis for essay writing. Simultaneously, we will focus on language enhancement. This co-requisite focuses on reading comprehension; critical thinking; the structured writing process; rhetorical awareness, writing in diverse genres, grammar, mechanics and cross-cultural rhetoric and communication; listening and spoken communicative competence.
