Daniel Fishel’s Profile
Daniel Fishel is an illustrator, designer and educator based out of New York City. His work has appeared in the Washington Post, New York Times, NPR, and many others. In 2016, he was recognized as one of Forbes 30 under 30, under the Art/Style category. Daniel has been a professor at Citytech since 2014.

In this course, students will learn concepts and applied theories of digital media and the two fundamental graphic forms: raster and vector digital images and will define and describe similar and contrasting factors in each kind of image. The comparison will also recommend the best practice, specification or standard for using a specific form in a specific application. The course will include basic digital imaging terminology, and techniques including size, resolution, color space and file elements, measurements and file formats. Students are introduced to digital imaging concepts through software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator on the Macintosh operating system. Scanning and digital photography are integrated into lesson plans. 4 cl hrs, 3 cr

COMD3316 – D228 Advanced Image Editing
An advanced course that continues to develop the ability to capture, color correct, adjust tonal levels and curves and retouch bitmapped images. Students learn how digital cameras and highend scanners capture images and how to provide optimized files. Students are exposed to professional techniques for making corrections and altering pictures to match a client’s instructions, using software such as Adobe Photoshop. Introduction to professional photography database and processing software such as Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe CameraRaw. For students planning to continue for the Bachelor of Technology degree.
