DEN 2400 presents the didactic material, which correlates with the clinical experience, provided in DEN 2400L. The Clinical Faculty serves as group facilitators who assist the students in developing an awareness of and appreciation for the concepts, topics, and procedures related to the Dental Hygiene profession.

This course will be based on the study of nutrient constituents of foods, metabolism of nutrients in the body and their role in the human body. We will put special emphasis on specific health problems, especially those involving nutritional deficiencies. Through this course students will develop an understanding of the fundamental principles of nutrition necessary to improve and maintain health, to prevent illness and to provide support and therapy during illness.

This is a 45 CEU continuing education course given by the Dental Hygiene department of NYC College of Technology. Upon completion of this course participant’s will be able to administer local infiltration anesthesia and nitrous oxide analgesia in the state of New York.
It consists of 13 on-line contact hours prior to 4 days of on site classroom and clinic instruction.
Participants MUST be able to administer and receive local anesthesia.
