This course chal­lenges stu­dents to in­te­grate foun­da­tional de­sign skills with con­cep­tual think­ing to de­velop cre­ative so­lu­tions. Stu­dents ex­plore art di­rec­tion, copy­writ­ing, and vi­sual sto­ry­telling through pro­ject-based as­sign­ments while con­sid­er­ing the re­la­tion­ship be­tween a brand, its tar­get au­di­ence, and cam­paign ob­jec­tives. Em­pha­sis is placed on idea gen­er­a­tion, de­sign ex­e­cu­tion, and pro­fes­sional pre­sen­ta­tion.

This course challenges students to integrate foundational design skills with conceptual thinking to develop creative solutions. Students explore art direction, copywriting, and visual storytelling through project-based assignments while considering the relationship between a brand, its target audience, and campaign objectives. Emphasis is placed on idea generation, design execution, and professional presentation.

Stu­dents de­velop pro­jects from thumb­nails through final pre­sen­ta­tions.

This course explores creative visual thinking and its importance to communication design. Students experiment with image-making techniques and learn to use graphic tools to communicate concepts and ideas. The course emphasizes the integration of communication concepts, type and graphics and their relationship to multiples discloses. Students develop projects from thumbnails through final presentations.

This be­gin­ning pho­tog­ra­phy course ex­plores the foun­da­tional con­cepts of light and ex­po­sure. This beginning photography course explores the foundational concepts of light and exposure. Ac­quire the pro­fes­sional knowl­edge, lan­guage, and processes needed—from ini­tial thumb­nail to final pre­sen­ta­tion—in mul­ti­ple dis­ci­plines such as graphic de­sign, web de­sign, ad­ver­tis­ing, mo­tion, il­lus­tra­tion, broad­cast de­sign pro­duc­tion, and oth­ers.

Explore creative visual communication through graphic design. Using type and graphics, students will participate in the process of communicating concepts by experimenting with image-making techniques. Acquire the professional knowledge, language, and processes needed—from initial thumbnail to final presentation—in multiple disciplines such as graphic design, web design, advertising, motion, illustration, broadcast design production, and others.
