Being a Hispanic female, born to immigrant parents might have some believe that I am already at a disadvantage. Lucky for me, I live up to my own expectations and reject such notions. I actually prefer to see all of the possibilities that knowledge and education have to offer. As a dental assistant of 8 years, seeking to expand my skills I decided to turn my determination and focus toward the field of Dental Hygiene. Participating in this two year program has truly challenged me mentally, physically and emotionally. Ultimately, it has made me aware of my eagerness to learn and grow to be an exceptionally skilled and caring dental hygienist.
