Final Grades Posted

Dear Class,

Congratulations on reaching the end of the semester! I’m very proud of the work you all have put into this class this semester. I also enjoyed our class discussions immensely.

You should now be able to see your final exams on Blackboard and your final grades on CUNYFirst. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best wishes to all of you for the summer and for your future academic endeavors!

Final Exam Monday 5/20!!

Our Final Exam is coming up this Monday, 5/20!!

The test will be 75 minutes long and will be administered on Blackboard. You should receive an announcement to your email at 6:00pm when it becomes available. You can also find it under “Content” in Blackboard after 6:00pm.

The exam is open book and open notes. I recommend that you study carefully for it by filling out the study sheet ahead of time. Most of the questions require understanding concepts, not simply repeating answers from the study sheet.

Do NOT plagiarize from the internet. Utilizing answers from class materials and lectures is acceptable. Plagiarism from the internet is grounds for a zero score on the test.

You can start it any time within the normal class period (6:00-8:30pm) and will receive a full 75 minutes to take the test. It is possible to pause the test and come back later, but the clock will keep ticking and you only have 75 minutes total to take the test. You will not be able to resume after 8:30pm.

If you need a special exception you need to contact me. If for some reason you don’t contact me and also don’t take it at the appointed time, you will need a documented excuse (either medical or related to bereavement) for permission to take it at another time.

Don’t forget to download the review sheet and fill it out before the test! And let me know if you have any questions.

Last Day for Written Work, 5/19

Please submit all written work for this class (either to turnitin.com or by email to me) by midnight on 5/19 at the latest. No written work will be accepted after that.

Until then you can still submit late homework assignments and other written work. These grades are all important for your final work, so get as much in as you can.

Contacting Groupmates

Group presentations begin next class (5/6)!!

Although we met in groups last night, some students were missing. Each student (whether present last night or not) needs to make contact with their group to prepare for the presentation. The best way to do this is through Blackboard.

To see the names of your groupmates, go to “Content”—“Cases and Groups”—“Groups”

To email these students, go to “Tools”—“Send Email”—“Select Users”

Here you should be able to select classmates by name and send an email directly to them. I recommend beginning a group email that includes the email addresses of all students in the group, so everyone can see responses.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,

Dr. M

Group Presentations

Dear Class,

The next TWO Mondays we will not meet because of Spring Break. That means our next meeting will be on 5/6. We will begin group presentations that day (5/6) (Groups 1-4 presenting), so you will need to begin working on your group presentations between now and then so that you are ready when your group presents.

We will discuss group presentations at the end of class today. I will give you the opportunity to meet other group members and exchange contact information. Additionally, you can see the assignment now on the Group Presentation Assignment page, and you can see the rubric I will use to grade the presentations on the Rubric page.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Best,

Dr. MacDougall
