Shitty first drafts–Leslie

PART A: Writing a first draft is more of a process than a product since a first draft will not always be the best or perfect. There will always be mistakes on it, bad spelling, not making any sense at all. Usually, the 2d or 3rd drafts are the product since those come out better than the 1st1 draft. It takes time to master a well-written draft.

PART B: “We all often feel like we are pulling teeth, even those writers whose prose, (follows the natural flow of speech) ends up being the most natural and fluid (smooth). The right words and sentences just do not come pouring out like ticker (a telegraphic or electronic machine that prints out data on a strip of paper) tape most of the time.”

What this quote means in my own words- everyone battles a lot trying to find the perfect way to write and express what they want to say. Even writers who have their writing sound formal end up sounding smooth. The way we want to express ourselves in writing doesn’t come out automatically most of the time.

PART C: The genre I would call this type of writing is like an educational formation of something realistic that can be applied to our everyday lives and impact all of us.

  1. I agree with your explanation on part A. I also think the quote you explained is well thought out and definitely put a different perspective of how i thought what it means. I agree with you that this piece can be educational.
