Well growing up I quickly matured quickly than most people probably did, when I was born it was still in not in the best era because it was post soviet times and it was very depressing because you had to see people cope with everything that they lost and the fact of the corruption we had to live in. I grew up speaking 3 languages which was one at home and 2 at the streets but now 3, sometimes I look at my world now and I am like wow it’s so different here but sometimes you can’t really escape it because of how many refugees coming around and everything.
Growing up you can see how hard it was to be an Ukrainian because stereotypes and even language problems were there because not everyone spoke Ukrainian in the country and Russian was the predominant language in the east but of course it affected Ukrainian resulting into a mixture of 2 languages into one in Ukraine so it made it so much easier to speak one of them with no ease.
Russian language was still important as it was mostly on TV and internet and traveling to any country or even here you will meet Russian speakers so it’s one of those reasons why I perfectly remember all those languages I spoke and it shows how someone can live 2 worlds in one or even 3.

Hey Daniel, I think you should go into detail of your own experience. During these times you described, how did it impact you specifically? Do you remember a conversation you had with your parents? Or a time in your life you thought you wouldn’t be able to escape it but detailed.

I was sitting in the Uk Lit classroom. The class was full of…. I saw [student tshirts with logos and symbols. I even saw — describe SWASTIKA – I heard –
“Why is a Carpathian boy here?” “Chomu Karpatsky Khlop tut” The teacher NAME actually is the one who asked this. I noticed that he was singling me out and I felt very embarrassed. He made me feel like I was not like everyone else. A LITTLE BIT OF HIS BACKGROUND of this teacher but not too much.
