In the article “Schools are Killing Curiosity: Why we need to stop telling children to shut up and learn,” Wendy Berliner expresses the fact that allowing children to be curious and ask questions improves their education. According to the writer teachers are more concerned about the students listening to the lesson than actually learning it and be curious about it. The author brings up the fact that children are born curious, expressing that curiosity is one of the critical methods that us humans adopt as a way of learning. Berliner mentions how students are sitting in a classroom and the teacher drawing their attention back to the lesson about weather while ignoring the fact that the children had any questions. Overall the author concludes with a quote from Professor of neuroscience Paul Howard-Jones at Bristol University stating that the time for questions should be found, students should be encouraged to ask questions even if it is challenging for the teacher.
