Part A: When it comes to writing a first draft, the process is more important and relevant than the product. I think this is true because a first draft is only your starting point. You don’t have to really have to be super precise when it comes to that part because that’s just the start of your writing piece. This is mainly just for u to write out what you know that’s in your mind already. Everything that you recall that you’ve learned is being jotted down and created into this print of information that can be used for the actual writing piece.
Part B: “The first draft is the childâs draft” What this quote is saying is that they symbolize the word “child” meaning that its not a professional piece of writing work but rather half asked as if it was written by a child.
Part C: For this text, I think its genre should be labeled as informative and narrative because its very well spoken on advocating on how you should write. Lamott gives us examples of her own personal experience on her struggles as a writer herself while teaching us to not make the same mistakes she did. She explained thoroughly that you should always take it slow when it comes to your writing piece. Making a first draft is a good start. It isn’t going to be perfect. Its called a “first draft” for a reason. You can make plenty of changes to it whenever you please. It’s overall very informative in terms of giving the readers different tips on writing.
