Intro– Leslie Neri

Hi, my name is Leslie Neri. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I am half-Mexican and half-American since my parents were born in Mexico and not here. I was born in May, so my zodiac sign is Taurus. I like to go out on the weekends or whenever there is no school. I like being out in the world. One of my favorite seasons is spring because during that time the weather for me I feel is perfect. The breeze and the way the sun is shining there. Spring is usually the season for flowers, and I like flowers. I have a big family, so it is sometimes hard to get to places because of how much we rely on public transportation. My family consists of 6 people. I am the oldest daughter/sister in the family. I have a brother who is 2 years younger than me. He is currently in high school; I have 2 sisters who look like twins but are not. They are both currently enrolled in middle school. My brother is the only boy in my family. I like to read comics in my free time and watch movies. I have a fear of heights so for me the amusement park is scary. I find it funny that I feel that way towards the amusement park but towards a water park not really. I’m down to going on the tall slides but I never can find myself to do it alone. This is because I do not really know how to swim so it makes me nervous and scared to ride the water slide alone. That was one of the things I did with my family during the summer. Go to a water park.

There are many goals I want to achieve in my life. One of those goals is to become a general nurse. I am currently a first-year student at college majoring in nursing. I want to help others and make the world a better place by helping the poor. One of the most essential things in life is our health. Then after that, it can be anything else. I believe health is something that many people nowadays struggle with to keep up. Since the human body is very weak it is crucial to take care of it as best as possible. You see ever since I was little, I always knew what I wanted to be. Whenever the teacher at school asked us “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I would say a nurse because I think they are very cool and awesome people too. What inspired me to want to be one was the way that their uniforms looked, their tools, and the way they seemed gentle and caring, it looks like a fun job to have in my opinion. Another goal I have that I want to try out is traveling to different countries around the world. I have not traveled before anywhere outside the U.S. but I want to experience how it feels like being a tourist. For now, that is all I want to say. I’m a shy/timid person so I find it hard to be open about myself and share things that I think people will find weird or annoying/foolish.

  1. Hey Leslie,

I love how were both Mexican Americans and May Taurus’s!! Im the complete opposite when it comes to water parks, i’d prefer amusement parks. I fear water parks due to the fact that I also cant swim and I feel like i’ll go flying out of the slides. If you got the chance to travel, where would would you travel? And why? I understand when you said you find it hard to open up to people because in the back of my mind I always think they find me weird.

  2. Hi Leslie, I was also born in May and my family members are 6 including me. I also like flowers and my favorite type of flowers are daisy flowers. Based on your picture, I think your favorite is sunflowers. Something we have in common is that we both want to be nurses. I believe it’s an excellent career because you would be able to help/support others. What countries do you want to visit? And how does it feel being the oldest sibling?

  3. Hey Leslie, my three year old brother is also one of the only boys in my family. And I feel the same way towards water parks I can barely swim so I always have a floatie right by me every time since I’m so paranoid I’m going to drown.
