Research Question: What are the effects of sleep deprivation on decision-making abilities?
My Message:
Lack of sleep drastically affects decision-making by affecting critical thinking and judgment related brain activities, decreasing focus, and increasing impulsivity. Even when sleep-deprived, people can lessen the impacts and make better decisions if they understand how these changes happen mentally.
Target Audience:
Students and young professionals between the ages of 18 and 35 who often put work or other obligations ahead of sleep. Although sleep deprivation is common in this group, they might not be completely aware of how it affects their mental state and ability to make decisions.
Genre:
I’m thinking of doing a video essay because it makes the visual interesting and understandable. I could demonstrate how sleep deprivation impacts the brain and decision-making with animated images, real world situations, and brain area animations.
