Project Proposal-Jazmyn B.

Research Question: How is modern AI affecting media targeted towards today’s youth and how does it harm their development?

The message I want to teach my audience is that AI-generated media and too much technology in general is bad for younger children. AI should be examined carefully in terms of what it’s capable of putting out, and should not be used for entire projects, like shows or videos. It can be used in moderation, but it overall takes away from the “creative” and “honest” process in making media. The target audience I’m trying to reach is students who strongly agree that human work is superior to AI-generated work, and also people that may have younger Gen Z/Gen Alpha siblings who are hooked on technology. The genre I’m considering is a video essay, as I believe I’m familiar enough with editing software and it’d be easy to personalize this type of media. I also feel as though it’d be the best way to provide visual media and speak on it, simultaneously. As for my plan, I intend to make rough scripts and compile possible media/footage I could use for this project. I’m most likely going to use CapCut as a software. Lastly, I’ll be using the video essay mentor text “Bloodborne: A World Without Hope”.
