“You need to eat more”
That’s honestly a sentence I used to hear a lot by all of my family members. Whenever there was any sort of family gathering everyone would say something in the lines of how skinny I am. This would happen since I was a kid all the way to almost a year back. Not realizing how skinny I was and what I could actually do about it to better my health, it would kind of hurt my feelings. Since almost everyone would say that about me. But once I got to high school I soon realized that there is many things you can do to get a little but muscular and gain weight in a healthy way.
Around this time I started doing my own research and had to find out everything about the human body and how it works when it comes to gaining weight. From the calories to how much protein or how many times you’d workout in a week. I soon got a membership at a gym my cousin would go to, started going every day after school. I did everything by the books, and soon after about 6 months I’d put on 25 pounds. I remember when my cousin walked into the gym at the same time as me, he was pretty shocked of how much my body has changed. “If you keep it up, your going to end up bigger then me” those words kept me going. And honestly this type of healthy lifestyle is just part of me now, so at the end of the day I’m grateful for the people that called me really skinny. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be in the shape I am today.
Could this be a story about how you learned about body building and how you changed your body image?
What were the names of you family who said this to you? Where did they say it? How old were you?
So far example, is this something that happened at every family gathering? “Mohammad, eat more!” I can remember every Thanksgiving when my aunt and uncles heaped food on my plate and sent me to the table. I was sitting with my cousins who towered over little me….Something like that!
THEN — What are the steps you took in researching the human body? Did you go to youtube videos? Did you read library books? What were you learning? THEN– how did you put your learning into action inthe gym? Can you describe your first day at the gym?

After reading your story it just made me think of how many people have said the opposite to me since I was on the bigger side most of my life. It’s very impressive how you were able to take people’s words that hurt you and use them as motivation. What were the meals you were eating to gain weight? I heard it was really hard for skinny people to gain weight. I sometimes wish I had that, but the grass is always greener on the other side.
