Tip 1: One important tip for me would be checking the syllabus. Not only checking it but throughly looking at it. Back in high school the syllabus didn’t really have much important information on it. Besides the grading system and how long the class is for. But in college I’ve noticed every class gives a very detailed syllabus with very important information. Such as exam dates, big assignment’s, and even class policies. Which makes it so important that I read all of the syllabus so I’m not confused about anything regarding the class. Also not every class has the same type of syllabus or polices. So it’s important that I read through all of the different class syllabus.
Tip 2: Understanding deadlines is another major college tip I need to understand. Because I feel like back in high school deadlines weren’t too serious. Since many students would miss the deadlines at the same time, the teacher would just allow a extension. But after reading the slide I now know that, in college some professors might not even accept a extension. Which would result in me failing a assignment that could be a major part of my grade. Also on the slide it does mention that sometimes things do happen. And in those rare situations it’s best to talk and try to sort something out with the professor.
Hello Mohammed! Understanding deadlines is very crucial. I agree with you that high school didn’t take deadlines seriously. I would know it the most since I was one of those people who would procrastinate and end up doing the assignment late. After reading all of my classes’ syllabus I understand now that college is way different than high school. But hopefully, we all start adjusting to college quickly!
