Intro-Jazmyn B.

8/29/2024

Hello! My name is Jazmyn, and I’m like many of you-students at City Tech. I’m currently aiming for a degree in Computer Systems, and this is the one of many classes I need for it.

My family and I hail from a variety of different countries and their cultures, like Great Britain, India, Grenada, (and even Germany, for some reason I have yet to discover)…however, we are mostly Trinidadian!

I like to consider myself a very hyperactive person, especially in terms of my hobbies and the occasional hyper-fixation or too, when it happens. Seeing myself as more inclined to the arts in life, (Whether that be videogames, music, anime/animations, or drawing), I generally love being creative and putting my own personal touch on things. If I’m going to be specific to this course, one of my favorite activities when it comes to writing, is to just take a random scenario and/or character(s), and simply elaborate from there! Often, I imagine myself creating various medias that way, like TV shows, mini-books, games, etc.

How it turned out after a few days of being indecisive with the final design. Yes-the glitter does look weird from this angle, I know

Another one of my hobbies is photography! While I may not be a professional at it (especially with my only equipment being my phone and the occasional tri-pod), I love capturing “aesthetic” sights around me. This is especially true when it comes to animals and nature. It also helps, seeing as staring with my own eyes will only do so much for my memory. One day, I hope I can compile at least most of my pictures into a display book and look back at it when I grow older and have made even more important decisions in life. Just recently over the summer, my mother, brother, and I took a trip to Florida’s “Discovery Cove“, and while I unfortunately didn’t see every exhibit they had to offer, I did find myself snapping quite a few pictures of animals that impressed me the most! I even had a chance to float with and teach tricks to some dolphins!

To conclude, I do consider myself, like anyone else, a very complex person, whether that stems from my sporadic music tastes to my favorite color of the year! I hope this class does nothing but enhance my skills and further solidify my love for media and literature.
