If this was what soldiering was all about, then maybe I wanted to be a soldier.” This quote is very important because Powell feels he belongs within this group in addition it motivated him to become a leader, with the discipline that is structured is what he had craved for. This shows powell that not only is he a leader but is a team player within his core, he fits so well with the PR’s with doing activities such as cutting class, going to parties with also being a leader he was a academic advisor for the group

I agree with how you said he felt, I could see how that sort of environment instilled a sense of belonging, as if nothing mattered except them being soldiers.
