Describe the reasons why Grand Central Terminal had a different outcome than Penn Station. In other words, why was Grand Central saved and not Penn Station? What forces caused the different outcomes?

Wednesday: New York Public Library Site Visit (Meet on 5th Ave Steps, adjacent to Lion on the right (north) side. 1:30pm. Bring sketchbook, pencil/pen and camera.
Thursday: Terminal City (walking tour weather dependent) Meet in Classroom N500 unless otherwise noted.
Friday: Transit Museum and Archives. Meeting place and time to be finalized with Prof. Almeida in class on Monday/Tuesday.
