East New York, Brooklyn

The street area that i live in is called east new york. Around my area they’re many parks, churches, and small home and 3 story apartments. The area is very open and spaced out when it comes to the apartments the home are right next to one another. They’re is also a rhythm within the two story homes on the street called blake. For a good 5 or 6 blocks the homes all have a tree next the house or in front of the house and the trees are tall and some of the branches curve above the streets. All the homes are build similarly to one another but the families give their own touch to make the home look different and more to their liking.

While walking around the neighborhood you smell different spices and see different Caribbean flags. Most of the population in east new york are Caribbeans which is why you would smell different foods all the time and ser how they make their home seem similar to that of their home in their island. Within east new york they are four trains that help yoy travel around and thats the L, C, J, and number 3 trains. These trains are scattered around but they all help you get to where you need to go.

When it’s a rainy day, the neighborhood looks a lot heavier than it would on a sunny day. The brick/stone apartments look more dark and seem larger than usual and the tree branches appear more lower. But it still feels open around the area. The baseball field that is a block away from my home is huge and very open with natural green grass that grows wild sometimes. The baseball actually shows how they are small hills in the neighborhood because on one side the field theres a wall that about for feet tall but when you walk vertically to the other side there is no wall and the ground is flat. At times when its a foggy morning, the field looks creepy because the fog covers the middle of the field where its not visible at all.
