My name is Lorena Gonzalez. This is my first year here at City Tech college and my major is graphic design. I was born and raised in Brooklyn. I really enjoy photography and I do like to paint. I like experimenting with paint and i don’t mind getting messy with paint. I started painting a little bit in elementary school and in middle school but then in high school i wasn’t sure if I still wanted to do art. But after realizing that art is a way of expressing yourself and being creative i thought about graphic design.

What my avatar is. My avatar is a picture of a camera which clearly means that I like photography i have a tons of pictures everywhere my phone, computer and on my camera. Almost anywhere i go i have to take a picture it could be anything that stands out to me. I think of it as a way of gathering memories or just capturing the good view or moment or it can just any random picture that i could take then later work on it to make more of an outstanding photo.

What others might think of my avatar. Some clearly might say that i like photography. But others might say that its just a camera that takes picture how does that show me as a person. Well I think a camera shows who i am as a person im someone who likes to take pictures and share them to others. I’m actually starting to think that i want to be more of a photographer and a painter then someone who just like to draw something that is already made.

My Portfolio will convey the development of the goal im trying to reach. It will also convey the amount of progress i achieve to each assessment I’ve completed. This matter because it will help with anything i plan on doing for my future. It can be either something related  to art or something similar to art and it will show my progress as i keep on developing and adding as it comes. it also matters because if i wouldn’t have a place to display my progress then there wouldn’t be something to show my work off. But it wont only show my progress but more of who i am and my personality and my interest and the creativity i have in art and design.

Well, my project # 1 was not critique but I did learn something from doing this project. I learned a few vocabulary and got a better understanding of ambiguous and stable. It was a bit hard because we were suppose to use lines that create shapes. You could only use lines so that you can make the thumbnail ambiguous or stable. But I also had to make sure there was an equal amount of black and white. So there was a lot of things you had to pay attention while doing this project.
