Mx. WNL. Black male non smoker 23 years old. EO/IO: WNL. Patient presents with red bulbous interdental papilla, edematous gingival margins, severe inflammation and spontaneous bleeding. Visible plaque on all surfaces and complaining about having two jobs and not enough time to brush. He had generalized  subgingival moderate clickable calculus. PD 4-6 mm. Power toothbrush was recomended, but patient admited he can’t be 2 minutes still brushing. He finds it tedious. He is a musician, so I suggested to put on a song and brush during that time. Next visit his gingival inflammation had receded dramatically and the bleeding was reduced tremendously. Patient noticed the difference, and said that with the music he had been able to brush the whole 2 minutes or more. Hand scaled and ultrasonic used to complete his cleaning. Arestin candidate.
