According to the authors, it seems that designers are people that try to find solutions to problems no one else has the answers to. In the Armstrong Intro, it states that, “Designers are looking beyond successful business and aesthetic practices to the broader effects of the culture they help create.” I think that the distinguishing feature between fields of design is what methods they use to create their solutions, art, etc. Motion Designers use animation and special effect programs, Photo Editors use photoshop, and so on. It can also vary with its logic. For example some designers use math and science while others use more innovative and abstract thinking. Some designers may even use combinations of multiple design strategies.

Technology plays a large role in the advancement of design. Its made it significantly easier to accomplish many things such as create more elaborate design strategies and share those strategies with an even larger audience. Furthermore, designers have access to more inspiration and information.

As for problems, there are many out there. First and foremost is the competition. Many artists are attempting to get their work out there to show the world on top of that work is stolen and copied from each other all the time. Many people have, however copyrighted/trademarked their work to better protect it.
