My name is Kevin Jimenez. Im a senior at the NYC college of technology. During my final semester i have gotten an internship at Women’s press collective. It is an independent local community news press. First established in 1986 they fight to bring the attention to issues involving New York City local neighborhoods. The head coordinator of the office is Lisa Daniels, since Women’s Press is a non-profit organization most of its volunteers are from all parts of the city including some volunteers and supporters from across the country. I have been assigned to create designs for them, and was given an orientation of its office staff and equipment. Including their many large printing machines use for publication. The point that attracted me to them is the fact that they do not use computers to spread their word, it all done through paper work and through their publications.
