Pierre-Robin Syndrome is a rare congenital abnormality affecting the head and face of a child. Children with this condition have difficulty with breathing and eating. It affects the dentition of a child. Malocclusions, anterior crossbite and delayed tooth eruption are some of the clinical manifestations. Early intervention is important in order to prevent life-threatening airway obstruction. As a dental hygienist, knowledge about this condition is important in dental management. A modified treatment plan should be provided. Preventative instruction should include daily fluoride rinse, fluoride dentifrice, fluoride varnish application, low carbohydrate diets and regular visit to a dentist.
