Headstart Program

This was a three-day event for dental screening and fluoride varnish program. We performed an oral screening and applied fluoride varnish to the kids. It was very organized. Each of us had a role. Three students were assigned to bring the kids to the table where screening was performed. Two students were paired to perform the oral screening and fluoride varnish application, and one to document the clinical examinations. There were two students assigned to the gaming section. My role on the first day was to prepare the kids for screening. I was assigned to do the oral screening on the second day. On the third day, I worked to document the clinical findings observed with each kid. Kids were very cooperative. Most of them had good oral health. It was a good learning experience and team effort. Everyone contributed the success of the program.
