In the essay entitled Ripe Fig by Kate Chopin, the main theme addressed the translation of time that affects behaviors between humanity and plants. Naiaine representation slow progression for the fig to bloomed in time unlike Barbette, the protagonist’s granddaughter. Frankly, she rushed into things which make time seem to be slow rather than becoming patient like Naiaine did. Meaningless to say, plants takes a long time to grow over a period of time. This suggested no matter how a person tried to struggle against time, it will eventually designated up to certain point of time.
