Hey everyone! I just wrapped up my first week as an intern at Brooklyn College. Let me tell you, it’s been quite the ride so far – full of learning curves, unexpected tasks, and a whole lot of excitement.

Now, if you’re wondering why my first week was a bit on the slow side, let me give you the scoop. You see, I was the only person on the team at the beginning of the week. Yep, just me, flying solo in the big, wide world of internships. But hey, every journey has to start somewhere, right?

While my supervisor, Isana, was busy scouting for more students to add to the team, I was tasked with a few important assignments to keep me busy in the meantime. First up: diving headfirst into the brand guidelines for Brooklyn College. Let me tell you, these guidelines are no joke. They’re like the roadmap to the college’s identity – everything from logo usage to color schemes to tone of voice. It was a lot to take in, but hey, I’m all about soaking up knowledge like a sponge.

Next on the agenda? Crafting a bio of myself for the website. Now, I’ll admit, writing about myself isn’t exactly my favorite pastime. But hey, it’s all part of the gig, right? So I rolled up my sleeves, and got to work crafting a bio that captured my essence without sounding like a cheesy dating profile. It was a fun exercise in self-reflection and storytelling, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

Last but not least, I was tasked with brainstorming video ideas for the team once it’s complete. Now, this is where things got really exciting. I mean, who doesn’t love a good brainstorming session, am I right? From campus tours to student testimonials to behind-the-scenes glimpses of college life, the possibilities are endless. I can’t wait to see where our creative juices take us once the team is assembled and ready to roll.

So there you have it – my first week as an intern in a nutshell. It may have been slow at times, but hey, slow and steady wins the race, right? I’m feeling grateful for the opportunity to dive headfirst into the world of marketing and communications, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the internship has in store.

Until next time, keep dreaming.
