36 hours in Aruba. When traveling to Aruba, here’s some things to consider…
Transportation. Considering the COVID-19, flights are a lot cheaper now. As of now, a non-stop flight to Aruba from JFK, NY, would cost about $306.
When you arrive at Aruba, rental cars are available. The rental car will come in handy, especially when you’re taking a tour of the island.
Climate and weather. Aruba is typically hot and humid. However, it’s best to visit the island from December to mid March because during this time, it has the highest beach/pool score.
Cuisine. For breakfast, Huchada, serves Dutch and Venezuelan baked goods, such as waffles and pan de jamon, and treats with a spin of the Aruban culture, pastiches, hand pies, stuffed with meat, cheese and/or chicken. Breakfast for 2 can cost up to $15, including beverages like coffee frappes, and my personal favorite, freshly made soursop juice.
For lunch, head on over to Babyback Grill, an open air BBQ spot, serving the best bbq ribs and macaroni salad at an affordable price, dinner for 2, $30.
To end the night, dinner at Aruba’s top tier restaurant, Papiamento. Tables surrounding a pool, guests can order sample dishes of keeshi yena, a casserole of chicken stewed with olives and raisins covered in cheese, or even try the surf and turf dish that served on sizzling stones.
Activities. Aruba has one of the most beautiful beaches and fun activities. With turquoise water, wind- bent divi divi tees, and white sand, Eagle and Palm Beach, are two beaches that will guarantee a lot of likes on Instagram. If you enjoy watching the sunset, head over to any bar on the beach, grab a gin and tonic. Is tropical sports on your itinerary? If not, you need to add it. Aruba offers a lot of fun water sports such as kite-surfing, windsurfing and underwater sports like snorkeling, scuba diving, at a great price. At Aruba Vacations, beginners can take a two-hour course for $60. At Mangel Halto beach, the hotspot for snorkeling, you can see all of Aruba’s beautiful sea creatures.
So, the question is… Is Aruba worth the visit? YES! It’s definitely on my list to visit!
