Resource for Textbooks

VitalSource Bookshelf lends up to 7 ebooks at no cost until May 25. It has a wide collection of books and the ebook of HMGT 1105 is also available. I am unsure if students can also rent seven books though.
If you want to use this resource, go to the site and create a user id (use your City Tech email) then simply look for the text book, make sure you access the 8th edition. I did this and it worked (my book is on campus).

Update, Recess

I will do my best to update you on a regular basis.

  • Classes are currently on recess and we will not meet on Tuesday, March 17.
  • The college remains open at this time.
  • I am in the process of updating the syllabus, as of 03/13/2020 it is not updated.
  • The only homework currently due is the first part of the Concierge assignment: selection of the historically significant tourism attraction. This is due on March 17 at 8am as instructed in class and on the student handout.
  • The course projects as listed in the syllabus (Concierge and 36 Hours) will proceed as stated in the syllabus.
  • No weekly homework is due on March 17.
  • I will have office hours as scheduled unless the college closes.

The Writing Center

Friday, February 14th is opening day for the Writing Center!

The Writing Center is located in LG-27 and open to all City Tech students. Students are encouraged to bring in essays, research papers, lab reports … all genres of writing are welcome!

For now, tutors will see students on a walk-in basis. (We are working on incorporating an appointment-based system.) When coming in to meet with a tutor, students should bring assignment guidelines along with a draft of their work.

Mondays-Thursdays, 10am-6:30pm

Fridays, 10am-3pm

The Writing Center will follow City Tech’s academic calendar. We will be open through Friday, May 22nd and closed for holidays.

Feel free to send me an email if you have any questions.
