The new Disney logo featured a bright blue castle with the text across it that says “Walt Disney Pictures.” The castle in the logo is shown to be Cinderella’s castle with an arching line overhead. This logo was meant to symbolize a sense of fantasy, wonder and imagination. It also calls upon dreams of excitement and romance in order to draw in the children’s attention. When you see Cinderella’s beautiful castle you can’t help but wonder what is exactly inside. This logo was used up until 2006 and a new logo was created as what we now see today. The original name this freeware typeface was called “Walt Disney Script.” This type of typeface falls under the category known as “Casual Script.” Some people may assume that this was the actual hand writing of Walt Disney but that wasn’t the case. The typeface became the Walt Disney company’s corporate logotype which symbolized the actual autograph/signature of Walt Disney. This typeface was created by a designer named Justin Callaghan, and was first released in 2000. The “Walt Disney Script” continued to modernize and was eventually renamed “Waltograph” in 2004.
