Note on the changes made for the revised syllabus
- Since webwork was not done, that component for the grade was dropped and all other components got a boost of 25% or so.
- Two topics (5.5 using normal distribution to appox. binomial distribution and 7.3 t-tests) were eliminated. The great majority of students have been struggling with the material. My philosophy is to do less in a deeper way rather than rush through too many topics that only a couple of the most diligent students will be able to handle.
- The last 2 topics have been switched so that all hypothesis testing happens at successively (chapters 7 and 10) [The last topic is now linear regression (chapter 9), a.k.a. scatter plots.]
