HW#4

“No it’s ok, repeat it” I hate my friend for that. He’s fluent in both English and Spanish since he’s from Puerto Rico. He claims that he loves when I speak “my” Spanish since accents are different. We were on the phone for a while, he asked if I ate and for some reason I said rice in Spanish, “Arroz”. He said that I said it so weird, and asked me to repeat. I of course hesitated and was embarrassed as well. He said I’m saying it wrong, I ran to the living room where my mom was. “Ma how do you say rice in Spanish? Arroz?” She said that I’m saying it wrong but the thing is, literally no one ever told me that I was mispronouncing it.

I think after that day I haven’t spoke Spanish whenever my friend and I are on a call. Not knowing how to form sentences in Spanish is embarrassing, but at least I understand the majority of it. I spent most of my time with my siblings when I was little. I was a very quiet and shy kid so people thought I was just mute. Right now I’m trying to teach myself some Spanish in case I go visit Mexico or my friend Puerto Rico.

Nutshell paragraph

When we squander food for no reason and don’t care, we should remember that there are 811 million people throughout the world that are hungry. This figure is increasing on a daily basis. Every year, millions of people die as a result of starvation. and the globe has been grappling with this issue for a long time. Despite the fact that the globe generates enough food to feed all of its inhabitants, 811 million people go hungry every day. We experienced this problem not because of food production, but for a variety of causes, including poverty, war and strife, and climate change.
If you look at history, you will see that so many people died as a result of hunger-induced by war.

If you look at history, you will see that so many people died as a result of starvation-induced by conflict. In total, more than 20 million people died of starvation during World War II, compared to 19.5 million fighting deaths.

There is a Purpose Behind Everything That Occurred to us

“Taqdeer”, This may be merely a term for you, which you may or may not have heard before. But for many others, this is more than just a word; it is blind faith. Not only for individuals, but also for the various communities that adhere to the Islamic faith. “Taqdeer” is an Arabic word that means “predestination.” It refers to God’s announcement of the fate of all things before they were formed.

The majority of our faith is Islam in the community to which I belong. My community and I, like other Muslims, had blind confidence in “Taqdeer.” Some people also refer to it as “taqdir.” Our view is that our destinations, or whatever we do, were predetermined before we were born. We also believe that everything that has happened to us, good or bad, has been caused by our “taqdeer.” And every Muslim is convinced of it. Also, whatever has happened or will happen to us has a cause, and we believe that everything happens for our benefit, even if it is terrible.
By stating this, I’m reminded of a tale relating to “Taqdeer” that I’d want to share.

One of my experiences let me grasp the significance of the “Taqdeer.” Because I had no idea or knowledge of “Taqdeer” before this happened to me. I used to go on a lot of motorcycle trips with my friends. And one with my friends, we planned a long motorcycle trip. That plan was established for a week following the current day. Everything was going great, and we were really enthusiastic about the trip, so we began to prepare for it. Just the day before our vacation, in the afternoon, I became really ill, developed a high fever, and was extremely fatigued and dizzy. I couldn’t get out of bed and I became quite sad since I knew I wouldn’t be able to make the trip tomorrow due to the circumstances. When my mother saw me in such a circumstance, she recognized that I was upset since I couldn’t go on the trip the next day. “Look, this trip wasn’t in your “Taqdeer,” and don’t be unhappy because you aren’t able to make it to the trip,” she remarked, adding, “she also mentioned there is a purpose behind everything that occurred to us, and I think the reason will be beneficial.” But I didn’t like what she said to me at the moment, so I became even more unhappy since I couldn’t go on the trip, and she was saying everything that happened to me occurred for a purpose.

My friends left the next day without me since they had all prepared for this vacation and couldn’t cancel it at the last minute for me. I also informed them that if they went, we would make another plan for another vacation the next time. After a few hours, I received the news that one of our friends had been in a motorbike accident in which he was severely injured. That was the bike I was meant to ride. After hearing the news, I was horrified and worried that if I didn’t become sick last night, I might be in the same predicament. And I recall my mother telling me recently that everything that occurred to us had a reason.

another incident that occurred after I realized the significance of “Taqdeer” in our lives

When I was in high school, I was wild about one thing that I always loved to do and never got tired even if I did it all day: cricket. Cricket is my favorite game and most favorite thing to do, and I used to have a few mates whose favorite game was also cricket. And we used to play cricket as a team all the time.
Every year, the state conducts a competition in which every state high school participates; this event used to take place in soccer and cricket.
And that year, our school opted not to compete in cricket since they were focused solely on soccer, and our school soccer squad performed admirably in comparison to the cricket team.

But, when I and my friends received the news, we went to our sports instructor and asked him to reverse the decision and consider entering the cricket team in a competition. and we said “win or lose it all depends on “Taqdeer”, one thing we can ensure you is that we will try our best to do well in this tournament. he got convinced because of our confidence in this tournament.
We all managed to persuade our teacher to enter the team in that tournament.

We had a terrific start to the competition and everything was going well since all of our team members were so enthusiastic about the team and we all fought so hard to do well in the game.

At one point, we had a match against the tournament’s strongest team, and if we won, we would go to the next round. It was a critical contest for us.

Before I describe my match experience, I need to explain cricket for a better understanding. Cricket is played between two teams of 11 players each. It is played in two innings, with one side batting and the other bowling, and the batting team sets a total called runs, which the other team must pursue in subsequent innings to win the game.

We were in a strong position during the game, especially when we were so close to victory and required 10 runs in two overs. However, we were unable to win the matchAnd because of the loss, our entire squad is unhappy, and we are determined to win the match. But we weren’t going to be able to win. Because we are all Muslims on our team, we believe in “Taqdeer,” and we all know that whatever occurred to us that day was written in our “Taqdeer.” We also think that whatever transpired that day was for the best. We were not disappointed as a result of that confidence. And begin working really hard for the next games. As a consequence of our ability to win reminder games in that competition, we were awarded winners.

Everything happened because it was on our “Taqdeer.” and whatever is written in our “Taqdeer” it will just happen, and no one can’t change it. we also believe whatever  is written in our “Taqdeer” is good for us. Because our God never did anything that is not good for us.
