Unit 3 project

The link for my project is here

Artist statement: For this project, I wanted a story that would be short but simple enough to understand. I feel like a long story would be boring so I went with a short story. I’m not a good story teller but I just wanted to give it a try.  My goal here was to make the kids see that even if its a small dilemma, they should always find someone to talk about it. They would feel much better about it instead of keeping it in. Because if so it would only get worse and they wont be heard.  So for this, I made a story about a little girl who is having a hard time with her parents not listening. I wanted to at least feel like I somewhat relate to the story. I had different ideas but as I said, I think a long story would be boring.

For this project, I’m thinking about doing a TED talk maybe. I feel like it would make much more sense for my audience to be CUNY students. I don’t think 4th graders would enjoy or want to hear anything about mental health stuff. I want more people to know about how mental illness/health is treated in the Hispanic community  and see what we can do to not pass this toxicity over to other people and such. I don’t know where to start but ill figure it out

I think its important to have a multimodal component in class because it lets student learn more ways of  writing or telling a story and such. As for the new assignment, I feel okay about it. I’m not the creative type of person but i guess having something new would be good. I haven’t thought it over so I’m not sure what I wasn’t to do or what the genre will be.
