While giving some background info about BTS and Kpop inn general, Bruner said, “Today, K-pop is a multibillion-dollar business, but for decades the gatekeepers of the music world—the Western radio moguls, media outlets and number-crunchers—treated it as a novelty.” (Bruner source 2). In short, this means that people in the pop culture took kpop as a joke at first, like they thought it wasn’t going to be a huge thing or simply the language barrier. Now I think this gives us a good background info about kpop, as it shows us how the music wasn’t taken seriously and where it stand at the beginning(before their success) and where it satnds today, being a multibillion dollar business.
