Minutes for the General Meeting of the 2015-2016 College Council Tuesday, March 1, 2016; 12:45-2pm in the Atrium Amphitheater (AG 30) I. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 1:05pm II. Approval of Minutes for the 12.15.2015 meeting of the college council The minutes were unanimously approved III. Chair’s Report Faculty Governance and Middle States Review Common Core Review Committee IV. Standing Committee Reports A. Curriculum 15H Minor Change to CMCE 4800 15I Minor Change to Math Prerequisite MET Courses 15L Minor Change to Course Name – EDU 3400 15M Minor Change to Environmental Control Courses 15P Minor Change to EDU 4871 B. Students Revised policy on repeating courses The college council voted unanimously to send the policy back to the committee on students for further consideration. V. Provost’s Report Provost August informed attendees about requirements and deadlines for participation in the CUNY Service Corps program. Provost August also discussed the Middle States Review process as it pertains to the college and informed attendees about opportunities for participation. VI. Good and Welfare President Hotzler informed attendees about the state of developments in the governor’s executive budget as it pertains to CUNY and Citytech. President Hotzler also discussed trends in enrollment at the college, highlighting increases in spring enrollment, in the number of transfer students, in the number of baccalaureate students, and the connection of these increases to new academic offerings at the college. President Hotzler also discussed the college’s designation as a military friendly institution as well as efforts the college is taking to reorganize the handling of transfer students. VII. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 2:00pm
