As I said in class today, the best way to review for the exam on Wednesday is to (a) do and review the HW exercises, and (b) review the examples we’ve gone through in class.
You should also work through the relevant exercises on the course review sheets, which I handed out in class earlier in the semester. They are also available on the Math departments website (here: http://www.citytech.cuny.edu/academics/deptsites/mathematics/finalExamReview.aspx), and I’ve also uploaded them to OpenLab (under “Files”).
Here are the relevant exercises for this exam, as we went over in class today:
Course Review #1:
#1: Simplifying rational expressions via factoring (Sec 5.1)
#2: Solving rational equations (Sec 5.5)
#4(a): Simplifying and adding/subtracting radicals (Sec 6.3/6.4)
#4(b): Adding/subtracting rational expressions (Sec 5.3)
#10(a): Simplifying rational expressions via factoring (Sec 5.1)
#11: Multiplying radical expressions (Sec 6.5)
#12: Solving rational equations (Sec 5.5)
#13: Simplifying radicals (Sec 6.3)
#14(b): Adding/subtracting rational expressions (Sec 5.3)
Course Review #2:
#1(a): Dividing & simplifying rational expressions (Sec 5.2)
#2(a): Adding/subtracting rational expressions (Sec 5.3)
#2(b): Solving rational equations (Sec 5.5)
