Hello professor, can you please explain Problem 7 from section 6.1 in the textbook.
not Problem 7 but Problem 8.
It looks like this discussion format doesn’t allow mathematical symbols. I will investigate this.
Problem: int ( 1/sqrt(2x+3) dx
Why not substitute u = 2x+3? so du = 2dx
Re-write: int ( 1/2 du/sqrt(u) ) = 1/2 int (u^(-1/2) du = 1/2 ( u^(1/2) / (1/2) = u^(1/2) = (2x+3)^(1/2) +C
I want to try the Latex code:
