I agree – Information Literacy is a valuable set of skills that empowers students to become agile information seekers who adapt to changing modes of information delivery and are selective, critical, ethical users of information in all formats. These skills are embedded within course work throughout academic programs. Information literacy is not new but an on-going conversation to improve academic performance.

I always try to convey the power students can develop as they continue to ask questions and seek reliable answers. This, however, is not an easy task. So often students just fill in the blanks and are not given a chance or lack the background to ask questions in a complex manner. I look forward to continuing the conversation with this group!
Karen:
Great seminar……and your post is excellent as food for thought heading into the new semester.
